We all love summer. After living with the cold and being inside all winter we enjoy
the days of picnics, outside music festivals, spending time outside in nature and watermelon! We take vacations; have adventures and summer romances both with people and places. This summer I facilitated an inspiring pilgrimage to the south of France. Our trip was entitled, Searching for Mary Magdalen, and Finding Our Lady.
The theme for the trip was awakening and honoring the Sacred Feminine. Some of the highlights of the remarkable places we visited were the Grotto of Mary Magdalen, the place where she did much of her writing and performed water initiations and healing for many. The seaside town of Marie de la Mer where several of the women followers of Jesus traveled following the crucifixion. The goddess pool and forest was a treasure and held my most precious moments from our trip. To be anointed with the sacred flowing water, and sit in chairs carved from stone that were the seats of Druid priestesses gave us the experience of sacred ceremonies 1000’s of years earlier.
The energy of the Knights of the Templar and the Cathars was palpable at the sites where they lived and took some of their last steps on earth. Lourdes is one of the most miraculous shrines in the world. To experience the energy of the people visiting and all of the people from visits past was an experience beyond words. I was honored to meet my fellow travelers on the journey and was inspired by their dedication to bring their gifts of healing to the world. I was especially in gratitude to Finbarr Ross who enriched my knowledge and experience of the sacred during our inspiring journey through France.
In June 2016, I will again be traveling in search of Mary Magdalen. I feel there is so much more to explore and experience. I hope you can join me. From my experience on this pilgrimage I gained a deeper understanding of my own sacred feminine nature. I also realized that sacred moments in life can happen to us both at home and far away places.
