I am a family nurse practitioner specialized in integrative and functional medicine (FM). I received my master’s degree and Family Nurse Practitioner training at the university of Illinois in Chicago in 2001 and a doctorate in nursing practice from the University of Virginia in 2015. I am certified by the Institute of Functional Medicine as a FM.

Functional medicine is an approach that looks for root causes of disease. The world is more toxic, our diets are poor and many are not getting the answers they need to live a healthy life. Instead of squelching symptoms with medications that can bring harmful side effects, we look for ways to bring balance to the body allowing self-healing to occur.

I bring to my functional medicine practice the tools of conventional medicine and a commitment to be a partner with you in your journey to health.

I draw on 20+ years of healthcare experience while working with adolescents through seniors to reach optimal health via personalized medicine, helping each individual engage in his or her own path to healing through a balance of the mind, body, and spirit.  My expertise ranges from brain health, stress, cardiovascular and chronic disease to hormone balance, digestive disorders, autoimmune conditions, nutrition and athlete optimization.   

I am board-certified with advanced training in both integrative and functional medicine and I received specialty trained by Dr. Dale Bredesen. I am an Institute of Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner as well as a certified diabetic and asthma educator. I obtained a Bachelor’s from University of Notre Dame, a registered nursing education at the Ravenswood College of Nursing, and my Master’s at Rush University.
