About the band:
Deep thoughts, dancing, lots of feels and some much-needed healing. The Leah Shoshanah Band is an indie-rock project fronted by Chicago singer-songwriter, Leah Shoshanah, and backed by brass, drums, bass, backup-vocals and electric guitar. The project fuses together funk, folk and pop music to create intuitive and comedic musical experiences about topics such as: life’s purpose, passion, gardening and the pitfalls of social media.
Leah Shoshanah has traveled the world with her music, singing in operas, playing folk music in 45 German towns, and touring from the East coast to the West coast USA. Leah has released three albums and two singles and her songs have been featured in multiple documentaries. She’s also a renowned Cantorial Soloist and composer of Jewish music.
Leah comes from a background in jazz, classical and contemporary vocal training. She’s performed at the Green Mill, The Old Town School of Folk Music, Martyr’s, the Hideout and Hey Nonny AH. She’s shared the stage with Chicago Farmer, Erin Zindle and the Ragbirds, Macie Stewart (OHMME), Dried Spider, NIIKA, Sister Speak, and Todd Kessler. Leah has also toured Europe with Jack Mantis (SA) and the Sailing Conductors (Germany). She’s currently working on her first band album, set to release in Spring 2022.
